Anadolu Efes makes a move following Mike James' injury: Cameron Payne transfer announced
The blue-and-whites have signed 32-year-old shooting point guard Cameron Payne, who has NBA experience, through the end of the 2026-27 season.
Anadolu Efes has announced that it has strengthened its roster with American basketball player Cameron Payne. The blue-and-white club stated that a contract has been signed with the 32-year-old shooting point guard through the end of the 2026-27 season.
The transfer comes in the absence of Mike James, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury during the match against Serbian representative Crvena Zvezda in the 3rd week of the EuroLeague and was ruled out for the season following surgery. Anadolu Efes aims to fill the void in its point guard rotation with Payne.
Cameron Payne, who played in the NBA for many years, began his European career last season with Partizan. In the 10 games he played in the EuroLeague, Payne averaged 12.4 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds.
