Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız rank high on ESPN's world football lists
In ESPN's rankings of the best attacking midfielders and wingers, Arda Güler was placed 9th and Kenan Yıldız 14th.
World-renowned sports broadcaster ESPN has published its rankings for the best attacking midfielders and wingers in world football. Two young stars of the Turkish National Team, Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız, also found their place on the lists.
Arda Güler, who plays for Real Madrid, was ranked 9th on the list of the "world's best attacking midfielders." Juventus' young player Kenan Yıldız, meanwhile, took the 14th spot in the "best wingers" ranking.
ESPN'S ASSESSMENT
In its assessment of Arda Güler, ESPN highlighted the national footballer's left foot, playmaking ability, and effectiveness on set pieces. The organization emphasized that while Güler has not yet become a regular starter at Real Madrid, his performance at the Bernabeu has created excitement for the future.
The report also shared information that Arda Güler played 33 matches in LaLiga last season, producing 4 goals and 9 assists. Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes topped ESPN's attacking midfielder list. Names such as Jude Bellingham, Martin Odegaard, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Rayan Cherki are also ranked ahead of Güler.
In the assessment for Kenan Yıldız, it was noted that the young footballer plays a central role in Juventus' offensive production. ESPN reported that Yıldız stands out in many attacking categories for his team, including goals, assists, chances created, shots, and one-on-one attempts.
Bayern Munich's Michael Olise topped the winger rankings. Names listed ahead of Kenan Yıldız included Lamine Yamal, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Luis Diaz, Lionel Messi, Vinicius Junior, Bukayo Saka, and Raphinha.
The fact that both national footballers made it onto ESPN's position-based lists in the same period demonstrates that their rise in European football is also attracting attention on an international scale.
