Shock for Ahmet Nur Çebi and his administration at Beşiktaş: Discharge crisis!

Beşiktaş Club's 2024 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting was held at the ICC Istanbul Congress Center.

During the assembly, a discharge vote was held for the final 6-month period of former Beşiktaş president Ahmet Nur Çebi and his administration.

The activities of Ahmet Nur Çebi and his administration between 01.06.2023 and 03.12.2023 were not discharged by majority vote.

HASAN ARAT AND HIS ADMINISTRATION DISCHARGED

A discharge vote was held for current president Hasan Arat and his administration at the assembly.

In the vote, Hasan Arat and his administration, who served between 03.12.2023 and 31.05.2024, were discharged by majority vote.

Great reaction was shown toward former president Ahmet Nur Çebi, who attended the General Assembly.

'GO SIGN UP FOR THE BOXING BRANCH'

The newly elected chairman of the council board of the black-and-white club, Ahmet Akpınar, stated in his remarks, "Sit down in your places. Who do you think you are? What right do you have to do this? Is this how you will set an example? Who has the right to cause trouble here? This is not a place for a show. If you are going to fight, do it outside. If you want to fight, sign up for our boxing branch and win a medal for the club."

BEŞİKTAŞ'S DEBT ANNOUNCED

It was stated that the total debt of the black-and-white club as of May 31, 2024, was 12 billion 271 million 873 thousand 83 Turkish Lira.

Beşiktaş Club General Secretary Kaan Şakul stated that the net debt of the black-and-white club was 8 billion 429 million Lira, adding, "The figures announced by the audit committee are correct. I underlined that the figures subject to discharge are also figures kept according to inflation accounting."

RESPONSE TO CRITICISM FROM NUR ÇEBİ

Ahmet Nur Çebi, who was not discharged by the congress members, gave the following response to the criticisms directed at him:

"I served as vice president and president at Beşiktaş Club with the authority I received from this general assembly. Since I left, I have not spoken to anyone about Beşiktaş. I came here to the Beşiktaş General Assembly to give an account. No one can wag their finger at the Beşiktaş president, but they also cannot have him insulted on social media.

I neither stole from Beşiktaş nor let anyone else steal. I would like to start by answering Mr. Kaan (Şakul). He keeps saying at every opportunity that he is a banker. I do not find the calculations he made very sound. I left having reduced the debt remaining to my own administration by 200 million Dollars. I brought this figure down in 4 years. The new administration increased it by 100 million in 6 months."

"I STRUGGLED FOR THIS CLUB DAY AND NIGHT DURING THE 'FEDA' PERIOD"

Stating that he served during difficult periods of his presidency, Çebi said, "I am held responsible for every mistake made in the 100-year history of Beşiktaş! We experienced a pandemic in March of the year we took office. This plague affected not only us but the whole world. You need to take these into account when criticizing. When I was serving as the second president of this club, there was a heavy burden of many foreign players. We dealt with these issues at that time, and for years I struggled for this club day and night during the 'Feda' (Sacrifice) period in this community."

Speaking about the concert organizations held at Tüpraş Stadium, Ahmet Nur Çebi said, "The grass of Beşiktaş Club is changed every year. You know this too. We, as the administration, fulfilled this duty. The concerts given were also held before these changes, and the renovation work that needed to be done was already done afterwards. The money earned from the organizations you mention was brought into this community."

CRITICISM FROM ÇEBİ TO HASAN ARAT

Criticizing current President Hasan Arat, Ahmet Nur Çebi said, "You are trying to change the congress cards by spending 35 million TL. Is it not a shame? Will this money not come out of the club's treasury?"

Responding to transfer criticisms regarding his own term, Ahmet Nur Çebi said, "Every administration may have a desire to rebuild the football team when they take office. I can understand this. Let's talk about Gedson as much as you talk about Amartey. I took Gedson Fernandes from the hands of Galatasaray and brought him to this community. I brought goalkeeper Mert Günok to this team. Arthur Masuaku is still playing. I sold Wout Weghorst for a higher cost than we bought him for in 6 months. Do these have no importance at all? Furthermore, Semih Kılıçsoy already had a contract until 2026. You portrayed it as if the player was running away and signed a new contract. We cannot count the number of players we brought to the youth academy."

"THE INCOMING PRESIDENT PAYS THE MANAGER FEES LEFT BY THE OUTGOING ONE"

Regarding the criticisms made about the transfer budget, Çebi concluded his words by saying, "I paid 14 million Dollars in manager debts left over from the Fikret Orman period. I did not come out here and make an issue of it. You are calculating the 4 million left by us. This is a fact. The incoming president pays the manager fees left by the outgoing one. Everyone knows this, and you know it very well too. You will see when the time comes. I did not steal from Beşiktaş. I did not let anyone steal the club's money either. Whenever Beşiktaş asks for my help, I will come running."
