Beşiktaş calls for resignation of MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu

Beşiktaş Club Second President Hakan Daltaban reacted to the referee decisions in the Corendon Alanyaspor match. Holding a press conference at Tüpraş Stadium, Daltaban called for the resignation of Central Referee Board (MHK) President Ferhat Gündoğdu.

Daltaban also addressed Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, requesting that Gündoğdu be removed from his post. The black-and-white executive argued that Beşiktaş player Trossard was slapped during the match, yet the incident went unpunished.

Stating that they had decided at the beginning of the season not to speak about referees, Daltaban said this decision lasted only one week. Saying, "We have come to defend Beşiktaş's rights," Daltaban expressed that they felt compelled to make a statement following the events.

What does it matter if he is a good person? We want competent administrators. If you cannot do your job correctly, you have to pay the price. I invite the MHK president to remain a good person but to leave his post.

— Hakan Daltaban

“THERE WERE 28 FOULS, NOT A SINGLE YELLOW CARD”

Daltaban criticized the refereeing, stating that 28 fouls were committed in the match but not a single yellow card was issued. Saying that interventions such as pulling jerseys, pushing, and kicking in duels were overlooked, Daltaban emphasized that referees should not allow such situations.

Describing the intervention against Trossard as an "assault," Daltaban reacted to how the position was evaluated by VAR. The black-and-white executive demanded that the records be released, saying, "My friend in the VAR, what are you doing? We are curious about what was discussed in the VAR."

The Beşiktaş executive stated that the controversial decisions created problems not only for the club but also for the brand value of Turkish football. Daltaban argued that the incidents were also on the agenda in the foreign press, saying that similar events could be cited as precedents in the future.

In his statement, Daltaban used the expressions, "We do not want what is not our right. Let no one give us what is not our right. Let no one violate our rights." Stating that Beşiktaş's expectations for goals and penalties were not met, Daltaban noted that they were acting with managerial responsibility and could not behave like fans.
