Beşiktaş, which was defeated 1-0 away by Corendon Alanyaspor in the Süper Lig, made consecutive statements regarding the referee's decisions following the match. The black-and-white club targeted the match referee Adnan Deniz Kayatepe and VAR referee Bülent Birincioğlu.

In the statement, Kayatepe's management was criticized by recalling the decisions made during the Ziraat Turkish Cup semi-final last season. Beşiktaş argued that neither the referee nor the VAR intervened in a position involving Trossard.
The black-and-white club also objected to the cancellation of the goal scored by Oh and the position where Vlahovic was brought down just as he was about to enter the penalty area. The statement said, “We do not want to see malicious referees like Adnan Deniz Kayatepe and Bülent Birincioğlu in our matches again.”
Beşiktaş concluded its statement with the words, “We want neither advantages nor privileges. We only want fair and equal officiating. We will continue our rightful struggle with determination until this unjust order changes.”
