Critical financial general assembly concludes at Fenerbahçe

The ordinary financial general assembly meeting of Fenerbahçe Sports Club was held at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall. The meeting, which began at 10:30, included the administrative and financial approval for the period between March 1, 2026, and May 31, 2026.

Speaking during the highlight of the meeting, Aziz Yıldırım called for unity within the community. Yıldırım requested support from fans and congress members, stating, "Everyone should stand by Fenerbahçe. Fenerbahçe is a great community. It is a great power."

Providing detailed explanations regarding the club's financial situation, Yıldırım stated that 180 million euros in revenue had been generated from sponsorship agreements. Noting that the budget is at the 497 million euro level, Yıldırım expressed that they aim to deliver the budget "break-even" by the end of May.

Yıldırım argued that a total of 197 million 454 thousand 995 euros in resources were created for Fenerbahçe Sports Club and Futbol AŞ during the period of June 8 to September 24, 2026. Stating that expenses in the same period were 127 million 627 thousand 266 euros, Yıldırım said that there is 77 million euros in the club's treasury.

DEBT, REVENUE, AND TRANSFER FILES

Speaking about overdue payments, Yıldırım stated that when they took office, there was an overdue liability of 48 million 783 thousand euros, of which 39 million 117 thousand 214 euros had been paid. He said that if the 24 million euro payment resulting from former player transfer fees is not made by October 10, there could be problems regarding the European license.

Yıldırım also explained the transfer fee debts owed to other clubs item by item. He stated that there are payments related to Talisca to Al-Nassr, Skriniar and Asensio to PSG, Ederson to Manchester City, Cengiz Ünder to Marseille, and other transfer files. He also said that Fenerbahçe owes 35 million euros to agents, of which approximately 12 million euros are overdue.

Touching upon tax obligations, Yıldırım noted that a total tax debt of 300 million TL covering 25 players will be paid. Arguing that Fenerbahçe has paid high amounts of tax in past years, Yıldırım expressed that they expect other clubs to make similar statements.

Giving messages regarding the club's real estate and facility projects, Yıldırım said he wants to add a clause to the bylaws that would make the sale of club assets more difficult. Proposing the purchase of a 15 thousand square meter section in Samandıra, Yıldırım stated that 6 grass pitches at the Maltepe Academy will be made available for the club's use in March-April.

Speaking about the stadium project, Yıldırım said the capacity will be increased to 64 thousand. Stating that the projects are at the signing stage in Ankara, Yıldırım expressed that exterior construction work will begin in November.

In his statements regarding the transfer agenda, Yıldırım said that an attempt was made for Ollie Watkins, but the player did not want to come to Turkey. Saying about Lukaku, "You won't recognize Lukaku in 3-4 weeks," Yıldırım stated that Greenwood was bought for 39 million euros and that new moves could be made in January if necessary.

Yıldırım also made statements regarding Kerem Aktürkoğlu's salary, the UEFA penalty, and broadcasting revenues. Stating that there is a receivable of 10 million related to Acun Ilıcalı and Exxen, Yıldırım expressed that they would be grateful if the payment is made.
