Dursun Özbek re-elected as Galatasaray president!

At the Galatasaray Club Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, incumbent president Dursun Özbek won the election following the results of the 14th ballot box. With the final count, including white ballots, Dursun Özbek received a total of 3,343 votes to be re-elected as the president of the yellow-reds. Süheyl Batum received a total of 955 votes.

Dursun Özbek re-elected as Galatasaray president!

The general assembly, where the 104th term administration of the yellow-red club will be determined, began at 10:00 at Galatasaray High School.

In the general assembly, where a quorum is not required, the election proceeded after the congress council was formed and the opening was held.

In the general assembly, approximately 10 thousand members with the right to vote were expected to head to the polls. 20 ballot boxes were set up at Galatasaray High School for congress members to cast their votes, and the voting process ended at 15:00.

In the general assembly, Hikmet Koyuncuoğlu was elected as the congress council president by the joint proposal of the two candidates and unanimous vote. In the congress where 4,415 votes were cast, incumbent President Dursun Özbek had more votes in all of the first 14 ballot boxes opened, and with 6 boxes remaining, his re-election was finalized, making him the 39th President of the Yellow-Reds.

Speaking after winning the election, Dursun Özbek said, "It has been a democratic election. I also thank my brother Süheyl for his support for this democracy. An institution has won, and that is Galatasaray."

Süheyl Batum stated that the election took place in a festive atmosphere of democracy and that the winner was Galatasaray Club.

Coming to the podium after Dursun Özbek's victory was finalized, Batum said, "As always, we held an election in a democratic, festive atmosphere that no other institution could achieve to this extent. The winner of these elections, as always, was Galatasaray.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the council, who ensured that this election took place in such a democratic, festive atmosphere, and to the former administration. This election will be a precursor to our victory tomorrow.

We will experience our 24th championship all together. Let all communities fear a club that practices democracy in this festive atmosphere. We are Galatasaray. We are like no one else," he said.

4,415 VOTES CAST IN 20 BALLOT BOXES

Dursun Özbek came out ahead in the first ballot box announced. In the first box, Dursun Özbek received 157 votes and Süheyl Batum received 36 votes.

In the second ballot box, where Özbek and Batum cast their votes, more votes went to Dursun Özbek.

In ballot box number two, Dursun Özbek received 173 votes and Süheyl Batum received 32 votes.

THE LARGEST MARGIN WAS IN THE 16TH BALLOT BOX

Dursun Özbek achieved his largest margin against his rival Süheyl Batum in the 16th ballot box.

While 208 votes for Özbek and 47 for Batum came out of the box in question, there was a difference of 161.

Özbek also managed to come out first in all 20 ballot boxes.

THE FIRST PRESIDENT TO RECEIVE OVER 3 THOUSAND VOTES

For the first time in an election at Galatasaray, a presidential candidate was elected by receiving over 3 thousand votes. Previously, the highest number of votes was received by Ünal Aysal with 2,298 votes in the ordinary elective general assembly on May 14, 2011.

As a result of the announced votes, Dursun Özbek, who received a total of 3,343 votes including white ballots, was elected as the new president of the yellow-reds. Süheyl Batum received a total of 955 votes.
