Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag announced in a statement ahead of the F.A. Cup match against Newport County that Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayındır will feature in the game. This match will mark the first time Altay Bayındır plays for Manchester United, making him the first Turkish footballer to wear the club's jersey.

Erik ten Hag stated, "Yes, Altay will be in goal. He is very motivated and has been waiting for this moment for a long time. And that chance has now arrived. We know what we expect from him.
