Fenerbahçe returns from Czechia with one point: Moves to 7 points

In the 4th week of the UEFA Europa League, our representative Fenerbahçe was the guest of the Czech side Viktoria Plzen away from home.

While the home team appeared more effective in the first half of the match at Doosan Arena, the teams went into the locker room with a 0-0 tie.

Fenerbahçe had two consecutive goal opportunities in the 61st minute. First, Plzen goalkeeper Martin Jedlicka barely controlled the ball after a shot by Jhon Duran. Seconds after this position, Fred, who was completely unmarked in the penalty area, sent the ball wide following a cross from Szymanski.

Plzen came very close to scoring in the 78th minute. The ball hit the post and returned to the field of play after a shot by Kwabena Adu from the left diagonal of the penalty area.

The Yellow-Navies came close to scoring once again in the 84th minute. Goalkeeper Jedlicka saved a header by Anderson Talisca from an Archie Brown cross. Jedlicka secured the ball after a follow-up shot by Duran from the rebound.

Although Fenerbahçe pressed for a winning goal in the remainder of the match, the deadlock was not broken and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

With this result, Fenerbahçe increased its points to 7, while Viktoria Plzen moved to 8 points.

Fenerbahçe will host Ferencvaros at home on November 27 in its 5th match in the Europa League.
