Fine for Messi after slapping opponent
Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has been fined for his actions toward Quinn Sullivan during the match against Philadelphia Union.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined Inter Miami's Argentine star Lionel Messi due to an incident that occurred during the Philadelphia Union match.
In a statement released by the league, it was noted that Messi was penalized under the policy prohibiting hand contact with an opponent's face, head, or neck area.

During the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, an altercation took place between Messi and Philadelphia Union player Quinn Sullivan, and the Argentine footballer was referred to the Disciplinary Committee for striking his opponent on the back of the neck.
