What penalties await Adana Demirspor after walking off the pitch against Galatasaray?

In the 23rd week of the Süper Lig, Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor faced off at RAMS Park.

Galatasaray won a penalty in the 10th minute after Mertens went down. Alvaro Morata scored the penalty to put Galatasaray 1-0 ahead.

WHAT PENALTY AWAITS ADANA DEMİRSPOR?

According to the Turkish Football Federation's Football Competition Instruction, in addition to a decision of defeat by forfeit against a team that abandons a match, points equal to those awarded for a win are deducted from their current points total.

In such cases, the relevant club is required to pay compensation, as determined by the TFF, to cover the expenses of the referees and other costs, as well as the damages incurred by the opposing team.

Teams that fail to show up for a match or abandon the pitch for a second time in a single season are relegated to a lower league in addition to being declared defeated by forfeit.

Last season, İstanbulspor also walked off the pitch during their match against Trabzonspor. The yellow-blacks were declared to have lost 3-0 by forfeit and were handed a 3-point deduction penalty.
