Göztepe, which was relegated to the TFF 1. Lig two seasons ago, is waiting for the moment it will return to the Süper Lig. League runners-up Göztepe increased their points to 63 after beating Giresunspor 3-0 away in the 31st week. They could not mathematically guarantee promotion to the Süper Lig because their closest rivals, Sakaryaspor, defeated Keçiörengücü 2-1 and Çorum FK defeated Adanaspor 2-0.
Göztepe, which will go into the match against Gençlerbirliği this weekend (32nd week) aiming for an absolute 3 points, will be promoted to the Süper Lig if they win. In the event of a draw, they will wait for a point loss from their closest rival, Çorum FK. If Çorum FK wins, they will carry their goal into the final 2 weeks.
It has been learned that preparations will be made to turn Gürsel Aksel Stadium into a festival area for Göztepe, which is one of the leading clubs in terms of fan numbers.
The yellow-reds were relegated 4 weeks before the end of the 2021-22 season.
