Gürkan Aksoy enters Beşiktaş presidential race with ambitious projects
Gürkan Aksoy, a candidate for the presidency in the upcoming Beşiktaş Club general assembly, has introduced his projects aimed at resolving the club's financial issues.
Criticizing the financial state of Beşiktaş, Gürkan Aksoy stated that the club has been mismanaged for 25 years and that he is running to put an end to this situation. Aksoy said, "Instead of wealthy presidents, we need merit-based individuals. Beşiktaş has a debt of nearly 20 billion liras, and this problem can be solved with reason and merit."
Aksoy emphasized that his projects would generate revenue without selling off Beşiktaş's assets. "These are not imaginary projects; they are projects we can implement by leveraging the Beşiktaş brand, which will bring money into the club within 6-7 months," he said.
PREFERENCE FOR A DOMESTIC HEAD COACH
Stating that they will turn to domestic names for the head coach position, Aksoy said, "We will not work with a foreign coach. We have three domestic alternatives, and there is serious demand for one of them." Aksoy expressed that they would part ways with some players from the current squad and build a competitive team. "We will not have dream transfers; we will build a realistic team," he added.
