Message from Fenerbahçe regarding the April 4 investigation

Fenerbahçe Sports Club has announced that a new stage has been reached in the investigation into the armed attack carried out in Trabzon on April 4, 2015, against the bus carrying the A-team. The club issued a statement on its official website following the detention of 5 suspects within the scope of the investigation.

The yellow-navy club stated that the attack targeted not only Fenerbahçe but also Turkish sports and the public conscience, expressing that they find the process of shedding light on the incident, conducted with determination using the state's resources, to be "extremely valuable."

The statement read, "After 11 years passing without any progress following the attack, we find it extremely valuable that our state has recently been pursuing the process with determination using all its resources to uncover the perpetrators of this heinous attack."

In its statement, Fenerbahçe thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, the units of the Ministry of Justice, the prosecutors conducting the investigation, and the police and gendarmerie forces.
