New claim regarding the Central Referee Committee (MHK)
As eyes turn to the decision expected from the courthouse regarding the referees' file, it has been claimed that the TFF is considering the name of Sürhat Müniroğlu for the potential new MHK president.
Following the detention of several individuals, including Central Referee Committee (MHK) President Ferhat Gündoğdu, as part of the "referees' file" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the potential steps to be taken by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) have come to the agenda.
In the event of an unfavorable decision for Gündoğdu in the investigation, the TFF is expected to appoint a new name to head the MHK in a short time. During this process, the name of former referee Sürhat Müniroğlu has been highlighted as one of the prominent options.
HT Spor Intelligence Chief Sezgin Gelmez stated that the probability of Müniroğlu becoming the MHK President is high, noting that the TFF is waiting for the decision to emerge from the courthouse. Gelmez pointed out that the committee needs to be on duty, especially before the referee training to be held on October 6, 7, and 8, and the Ziraat Turkish Cup matches to be played during the week.
Gelmez stated, "The probability of Sürhat Müniroğlu, one of the experienced names in Turkish football and a former referee, becoming the President of the Central Referee Committee is quite high." It was also mentioned that Müniroğlu currently serves as a vice dean at a university.
While it was stated that the name of Kamil Abitoğlu had also come to the agenda previously, it was noted that if the TFF President makes a choice from outside rather than from within the committee, the Müniroğlu option would come to the fore.
