Okan Buruk speaks after Kocaelispor victory: Galatasaray must win every match

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk made evaluations after his team's 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor in the Süper Lig. Stating that the match was challenging, Buruk noted that the yellow-red team created many chances but that the main issue was putting the ball in the net.

Reminding that they did not get the results they wanted against Kocaelispor last season, Buruk drew attention to the psychological aspect of the match. Pointing to the goalkeeper's saves, a disallowed goal, and missed opportunities, the experienced coach expressed that he was generally satisfied with the attacking performance.

Stating that the opponent tried to be effective with long balls throughout the match, Buruk said that a few long balls after the 1-0 lead created danger, but they finished the match as they intended. Buruk said, "Our lead continues. Galatasaray must win every match."

STATEMENTS ON OSIMHEN AND TRABZONSPOR

Okan Buruk responded to a question about the records broken by highlighting Galatasaray's institutional strength. He stated, "Sometimes we break records without even knowing it... This is more about the power of Galatasaray than me. Our fans supported us. We broke records and won trophies with them. Our goal is to continue in the same way this season."

Stating that they gave playing time to newly joined players who were not yet fully physically ready, Buruk said he was pleased with the performances of Leao and Deniz. Noting that Lesley did good work after entering the game, Buruk also made evaluations regarding the roles of Batrakov and Sara within the team.

Expressing that Victor Osimhen's presence on the field adds strength to the team not only in terms of game quality but also psychologically, Buruk said, "We are strong with Osimhen. We are also strong without Osimhen; we have strong players. We also miss Osimhen." Buruk emphasized the importance of a clinical center-forward, especially inside the penalty area.

Touching on the Trabzonspor match, Buruk said that the opponent's motivation would be high following their defeat this week. The yellow-red coach stated that if Osimhen and Lemina recover in time, they could take the field with a stronger squad.
