The match is over but the tension continues: Ertuğrul Doğan's response to Ali Koç on July 3 and FETÖ
Following the match in which Fenerbahçe defeated Trabzonspor 1-0, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan joined the polemic between the AKP Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç.
AKP Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç reacted to the referee decisions in the Fenerbahçe – Trabzonspor match and made match-fixing accusations.
Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç did not delay in responding to Genç's statements. In his statement, Ali Koç said, "July 3 is our sweat. Targeting our community is to meet on the same line as those who plot against the country's independence. We defeated FETÖ on July 3. Their remnants are light for us. As long as the Fenerbahçe community stands together, no one can make us kneel."
A response to Ali Koç's statements came from Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan. Noting that they endorse the statements of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Doğan said, "The Trabzonspor community has always been the cleanest, whitest, and clearest side on this issue. It did not play ball with FETÖ prosecutors. It did not make FETÖ members club members. It did not sponsor FETÖ organizations."
In the continuation of his statement, Doğan claimed that the champion of the 2010-2011 season was Trabzonspor and stated, "The subject is closed to discussion from our perspective."

"We followed the statement made by Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç regarding our Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Ahmet Metin Genç after the match we played yesterday. We put our signature under what Mr. Ahmet Metin Genç said.
We would like to remind Mr. Ali Koç and his management here that the subject they are playing 'victim literature' on is not a subject that you can cover up with tapes, phone conversations, 'gifted' cars, 'given fatwas', and files at CAS!
The Trabzonspor community has always been the cleanest, whitest, and clearest side on this issue.
