The Sultans of the Net are European champions once again
The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Italy 3-2 in the CEV European Championship final to reach the top for the second time.
The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team reached the championship title by defeating Italy 3-2 in the 2026 CEV Trendyol European Volleyball Championship final. In the match played at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, the national team finished the tournament as European champions for the second time.
In the final, which was the scene of great competition, the sets ended 25-16, 22-25, 25-12, 21-25, and 10-15. The match lasted a total of 122 minutes.
Turkey, under the management of Daniele Santarelli, took the court in the final with Eda Erdem Dündar, Elif Şahin, Melissa Vargas, Hande Baladın, İlkin Aydın, Zehra Güneş, and libero Gizem Örge. The squad also included Saliha Şahin, Eylül Akarçeşme Yatgın, Derya Cebecioğlu, Cansu Özbay, and Yaprak Erkek.

Italy was coached by Julio Velasco. Vladimir Simonovic from Switzerland and Theodora Kyriopoulou from Greece served as referees in the final match.
