UEFA Appeals Body reaches a decision: Matteo Guendouzi will be eligible to play in Fenerbahçe’s match against Aston Villa

Fenerbahçe has announced that the appeal regarding the UEFA suspension handed to Matteo Guendouzi has been concluded. According to the statement from the yellow-navy club, the French footballer's penalty was re-evaluated by the UEFA Appeals Body.

The four-match suspension, with two matches suspended, originally given to Guendouzi by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, was reduced to a total of three matches following Fenerbahçe's application. Two of these matches have been suspended, subject to a one-year probationary period.

The club's statement noted that the decision pertains to the disciplinary process initiated following the UEFA Champions League Play-Off round match played against Olympique Lyonnais on August 26, 2026.

Fenerbahçe stated that Guendouzi, who was unable to play in the match against Roma on September 10, 2026, will be able to take the field in the Aston Villa match on October 14, 2026, in accordance with the UEFA Appeals Body's decision.
