The world's most powerful passports for 2026 announced: Singapore at the top, Turkey in 48th place

Singapore has taken the top spot in the 2026 passport power rankings, which measure global travel freedom. According to the list compiled by Henley & Partners, holders of the Singapore passport can travel to 192 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance.

Asian countries and European passports stood out at the top of the list. Japan and South Korea ranked high with 188 visa-free destinations, while the United Arab Emirates was also among the countries that drew attention with the same number.

TURKEY IN 48TH PLACE

Turkey ranked 48th on the 2026 list with 112 visa-free destinations. The ranking is closely followed as it compares the international mobility capacity that passports provide to their holders.

The prominence of European passports among the top 20 countries in the source was notable. While Sweden is in fifth place with 187 destinations, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Norway appeared on the list with 186 destinations.
