Documentary of 'The Face of the Republic' exhibition to air on February 24

The Borusan Kocabıyık Foundation's exhibition, The Face of the Republic, which focuses on the reflections of the multidimensional social transformation of the early Republican era on culture, art, and social life, is being brought to screens with a documentary film.

The exhibition, which has attracted great interest since the day it opened to visitors, features nearly 700 original and digital works, documents, and ephemera. It presents a comprehensive look at the period's cultural disciplines, including plastic arts, music, literature, graphic and architectural design, performing arts, museology, archaeology, and cinema.

Starting from the War of Independence, special emphasis is also placed on the themes of "foundation and liberation," which served as the source of inspiration for artistic creation within the scope of the exhibition.

MUSIC COMPOSED BY MURAT EVGİN

The project aimed to carry the exhibition, realized with the contributions of Borusan Contemporary, into a profound and permanent format through a documentary.

In the documentary film, directed by Selçuk Metin, produced by Tolan Films, written by Zeynep Oral, and featuring music composed by Murat Evgin, the emergence and preparation stages of the exhibition are told through inspiring stories, along with interviews and expert opinions.

The 'The Face of the Republic' documentary will meet viewers on NTV on Saturday, February 24, at 12:10.

'A GUIDE FOR THE FUTURE'

Director Selçuk Metin said, "The Face of the Republic is an exhibition that sheds light on our country's present. It is as impressive as it is prepared with an understanding that focuses on those who are curious about how the utopians who created our country from nothing built a new nation, allowing us to understand the past. The first twenty years of the Republic were the years when the most important revolutions took place.

The Face of the Republic exhibition is a journey into these years. Our documentary reveals the creative process of this journey. It is not possible to fit the radical changes and revolutions made in twenty years into forty minutes, but I believe this documentary will serve as a guide for those who want to learn from the past and conduct research."

The Face of the Republic exhibition can be visited for free at Galataport Istanbul O2 Block until June 2, every day except Monday, between 11:00 and 20:00.
