Foreign Language Proficiency Exam to be held on Sunday

The Foreign Language Proficiency Exam (2024-YDS/1), organized by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), will be held on Sunday, March 24.

Foreign Language Proficiency Exam to be held on Sunday

According to the statement made by ÖSYM, 402 buildings and 4,974 halls will be used in 81 provinces for the exam, for which 111 thousand 803 candidates have applied.

The exam will begin at 10:15 AM in 81 exam centers.

Candidates will not be admitted to the exam buildings after 10:00 AM. Disabled candidates who are eligible for additional time in the 180-minute exam will be able to use their 30 minutes of extra time.

Provincial and district population directorates will remain open until 10:00 AM on the day of the exam for candidates who have lost their identity cards, do not have an identity card, or whose identity cards do not contain an identification number and photograph.

EXAM RESULTS TO BE ANNOUNCED ON APRIL 25

ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy stated that 17 thousand 519 people, including security personnel, will be on duty on the day of the exam.

Ersoy noted that YDS/1 will be administered in 20 languages and stated the following:

"The highest number of candidates will take the exam in English with 96 thousand 757. 8 thousand 282 candidates will take the exam in Arabic, and 4 thousand 136 candidates in German. Candidates taking the exam in German, Arabic, French, English, and Russian will be asked 80 multiple-choice questions. For candidates taking the exam in other languages, the application will be in the form of translation from the foreign language to Turkish and from Turkish to the foreign language. I wish success to our candidates who will take the exam."

The exam results will be announced on April 25. They will be valid for 5 years from this date.
