How to adjust channel frequencies after the Türksat broadcast migration?
Following the migration of Türksat broadcasts to next-generation satellites, some users may need to update their channel lists.
The migration of television and radio broadcasts on Türksat satellites to next-generation satellites has brought the issue of channel settings back to the agenda for viewers using satellite receivers or satellite-enabled televisions at home. While some devices update channels automatically following the technical transition, some users need to perform a manual search.
The broadcast migration operation was carried out on the night connecting August 15 to August 16, 2026. With this transition, the goal is to achieve higher signal strength in the broadcast infrastructure, increased capacity efficiency, and the widespread adoption of 4K and Ultra HD broadcast standards.
Since the broadcasts continue from the same orbital position, viewers do not need to install a new satellite dish or change the direction of their existing antenna. Users experiencing issues are advised to first check the channel update feature of their devices.
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE FOR FREQUENCY ADJUSTMENT?
If your television or satellite receiver has the TÜRKSAT Channel Update System (TKGS), the device can automatically find the new frequencies and add them to the channel list. If the channels do not appear even though this feature is enabled, turning the device off and on or restarting the automatic channel update from the settings menu may be sufficient.
For older standard, internal, or external satellite receivers that do not have TKGS, a network scan must be performed. To do this, enter the settings or installation menu using the remote control and select manual frequency entry from the satellite search section.
A scan can be started by entering only one of the following two values: 12380 MHz vertical (V) polarization, 27500 symbol rate, FEC 3/4 or 12423 MHz horizontal (H) polarization, 30000 symbol rate, FEC 3/4. Once the network scan is complete, missing or relocated channels are expected to reappear in the list.
