İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport has surpassed a new threshold in daily passenger and flight traffic. According to the airport operator's statement, 958 flights and 180,914 passengers were recorded on Sunday, August 16.
With this figure, Sabiha Gökçen Airport reached the highest daily passenger count in its history. It was stated that new records were also broken on the same day for international arrivals and departures, domestic arrivals and departures, total international flight numbers, and international departure flight traffic.
The statement also reported that the highest daily level of all time was reached in the number of aircraft served via passenger boarding bridges. It was noted that the previous daily record of 212 aircraft was surpassed by serving 218 aircraft on August 16.
İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Executive Director Hanita Ahmad said that crossing the 180,000 passenger threshold for the first time demonstrates the strong demand for the airport and its operational capacity.
Ahmad thanked the teams on the ground, business partners, passengers, and public institutions that contribute to the continuity of operations, stating that Sabiha Gökçen will continue to focus on improving the passenger experience and sustainable growth in line with its goal of becoming a regional transfer hub.
