A suspect accused of persistently following a Russian female tourist in Fatih, Istanbul, has been detained by police teams after footage of the incident spread on social media.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department launched an investigation following footage shared on social media platforms, which allegedly showed a man following a woman.
The investigation determined that the incident took place in the Cankurtaran neighborhood of Fatih and that the individual identified as following the Russian tourist was E.K. (31).
The suspect, E.K., was apprehended in Esenler and taken into custody. It was reported that processing of E.K. at the police station is ongoing.
