TÜİK announces Turkey's population
According to TÜİK's periodic population statistics, Turkey's population increased by 228 thousand 434 people in the first half of the year, exceeding 86.3 million.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has published its periodic population statistics prepared for three-month intervals. According to the data, Turkey's population reached 86 million 320 thousand 602 people as of July 1.
The country's population, which was recorded as 86 million 92 thousand 168 at the end of 2025, increased by 228 thousand 434 people in the first 6 months of 2026. The portion of the population increase that occurred between May 1 and July 1 was 123 thousand 904 people.
In the gender distribution, the male population ratio was 50.01 percent. Accordingly, the male population was calculated as 43 million 170 thousand 975 people. The female population ratio was 49.99 percent, with the number of people recorded as 43 million 149 thousand 627.
