Arab League condemns Israel's attack on Abu al-Duhur Airport in Idlib
Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy described Israel's attack on the Abu al-Duhur Military Airport in Idlib as a violation of international law.
Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has condemned the attacks carried out by Israel on the Abu al-Duhur Military Airport, located in the Idlib province of northern Syria.
In a statement on his social media account, Fahmy stated that the attack was a clear violation of Syria's sovereignty and international law. Expressing that Israel's "provocative and unjust" attacks are unacceptable, Fahmy accused the Tel Aviv administration of spreading chaos and expanding conflict zones in the region.
The Arab League Secretary-General argued that the attacks serve the domestic political goals of the Israeli Prime Minister, stating that Israel is attempting to gain political and electoral advantages at the expense of security and stability in the region.
Fahmy also called on international actors and the United Nations Security Council, noting that Israel must be forced to stop these attacks.
It had been reported that Israeli military warplanes targeted the Abu al-Duhur Military Airport, which is located east of Idlib and is said to be in an abandoned state. No information was shared regarding whether there were any casualties or injuries in the attacks.
A Syrian official had reported that Israeli warplanes carried out 8 strikes on the airport, targeting the runway as well as an idle structure in a hangar.
