Armed attack in Nigeria: 23 people lost their lives

Armed gang members carried out attacks in the villages of Anguwar Danko and Kanawa in Kaduna state.

Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, the representative for the Kakangi region in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, stated in his announcement that 23 people lost their lives and 5 people were injured in the attack.

Salio reported that a large number of people were kidnapped in the attack, noting that some of these individuals managed to escape.

KIDNAPPED FOR RANSOM

On the other hand, 20 people, including women and children, were kidnapped for ransom in an attack carried out by different armed individuals on motorcycles in the Malumfashi region of Katsina state.

Nigeria has recently been facing attacks by armed gangs as well as the terrorist organizations Boko Haram and ISWAP, the West African branch of DAESH, in different parts of the country.

Although the penalty for kidnapping for ransom is death in the country, such incidents are frequently encountered.

Armed individuals and gang members generally target villages, schools, and travelers in the north of the country to demand ransom.

Dozens of people have lost their lives and more than 300 people have been kidnapped in attacks carried out since January, particularly in Kaduna state.
