In France, European Parliament (EP) member Raphaël Glucksmann was attacked in Paris after winning the primary held by the social democratic left for the 2027 presidential election.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, October 11, in front of a bar called La Cantine de Belleville in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. Glucksmann, who was at the bar to celebrate his primary victory, was targeted as he stepped outside to take a taxi after the event.
In the footage of the incident, a person is seen approaching Glucksmann from behind and emptying a bag of flour over the politician's head. No information has been shared regarding the identity of the person who carried out the attack or the motive behind the act.
Shortly before the attack, Glucksmann had won the social democratic left's primary for the 2027 presidential election with over 66 percent of the vote. With this result, Glucksmann was designated as the presidential candidate for that political line.
