Death toll rises in Russian air strikes on Ukraine

Ukraine spent another night under missile and drone attacks from Russia. The toll of the strikes was heavy; it was announced that a ballistic missile hit the village of Radushne near the city of Kryvyi Rih, resulting in the deaths of six people, including a 6-year-old girl and two boys aged 11 and 17.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian military launched over 70 missiles and more than 280 drones during the attacks. Following the incidents, it was reported that numerous civilian structures, homes, commercial businesses, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. It was stated that two houses in the region were completely destroyed, and two children were rescued alive from the rubble. Additionally, it was announced that an 84-year-old woman was hospitalized.

In the capital Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that one person died in fires that broke out in non-residential buildings. In the Poltava region, one person lost their life after a postal terminal belonging to the logistics company Nova Poshta was targeted.

The situation is also critical in the city of Lviv. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi indicated that some residential buildings in the city were damaged, many people were injured, and there were people trapped under the rubble. Authorities reported that rescue operations are ongoing.

During the hours of escalating tension, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy had warned in a recent statement that Russia was preparing for a large-scale attack. During his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, Zelenskyy stated that they had requested a license for the production of Patriot ammunition capable of intercepting ballistic missiles in Ukraine, saying, "Providing air defense missiles to my country directly protects human lives."

The attacks were not limited to Ukrainian territory. It was announced that one person was injured as a result of a drone strike on a warehouse belonging to the company Wildberries in Russia's Penza region.
