An attack was carried out with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on an oil field near the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq.
In a statement from the KRG Counter-Terrorism Directorate, it was reported that the Khurmala oil field near Erbil was targeted by 2 UAVs at 20:20 and 20:25 local time, and that the attack was prevented by shooting down the UAVs.
There was no loss of life or property in the incident.
It was stated that security forces have launched an investigation to determine who carried out the attack.
