It has been reported that Elon Musk provided at least $276 million in support to the Republican Party ahead of the midterm elections to be held in the US on November 3. According to a report by CNN, this amount has made Musk the party's largest donor during the midterm election process.
The report stated that a spokesperson for America PAC, the political action committee founded by Musk, confirmed the figure. It was noted that $158 million of the donations were directed to the Senate Leadership Fund, a prominent "super PAC" supporting Republicans in Senate races.
Musk, the owner of SpaceX and boss of the X platform, has become an increasingly visible figure in US politics in recent years. Musk, who is influential within the Republican base with his statements on immigration policies, public spending, and various political topics, had previously made headlines for his support of right-wing and far-right political movements.
Musk's political donations also drew attention during the 2024 elections. It was reported that he transferred approximately $288 million to the campaigns of Donald Trump and other Republican candidates in November 2024, making him the largest political donor of the election cycle.
In the upcoming US midterm elections, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and one-third of the 100-seat Senate will be up for renewal. The elections are considered critical in terms of whether the Trump administration can maintain its power in Congress.
