Eruption at Mount Semeru in Indonesia
Five eruptions have occurred at Mount Semeru, located in the east of Indonesia's Java Island. The activity level of Mount Semeru has been at a level 3 alert status since December 16, 2021.
According to a report by Antara News, officials from the Mount Semeru observation office announced that the volcano, located on the border of the Malang and Lumajang regions on Java Island, has become active.
Observation office officials stated that 5 eruptions occurred at Mount Semeru yesterday.
Authorities noted that the ash spewed by the mountain rose to approximately 900 meters and moved in a southwesterly direction.
LEVEL 3 ALERT STATUS
Mount Semeru also erupted on May 6, spewing volcanic ash into the surrounding area.
The activity level of Mount Semeru has been at a level 3 alert status since December 16, 2021.
