Europe switches to winter time: Will clocks be set back in Turkey?
Daylight saving time in Europe will end at the end of October. In Turkey, however, no changes will be made due to the permanent time system in place since 2016.
Europe is preparing to switch to winter time in the final days of October. Daylight saving time will end in European Union countries and the United Kingdom; clocks will be set back one hour on October 25.
Under the practice, clocks are scheduled to be set back one hour at 02:00 on the last Sunday of October. With this change, there will be more daylight in the morning hours, while it will get dark earlier in the evenings.
In Turkey, however, clocks will not be set back. Turkey, which has been using permanent daylight saving time since 2016, does not change its clocks throughout the year.

Seasonal time changes in Europe have been a subject of debate for years. The European Parliament voted to abolish the practice in 2019, but no concrete progress has been made in the process of implementing that decision.
Setting clocks forward in the spring and back in the autumn is practiced with the justification of making more efficient use of daylight. Nevertheless, calls to abolish the practice continue due to its effects on daily life, transportation, and work schedules.
