Frankfurt Airport to be closed to passengers tomorrow

In a statement released by Fraport, it was reiterated that security personnel at Frankfurt Airport will go on strike tomorrow.

Emphasizing that the strike will cause major disruptions and flight cancellations throughout the day, the statement included the following: "Security checkpoints will remain closed. It will not be possible for passengers with flights from Frankfurt Airport to pass through the legally required security checks. We advise all passengers not to come to the airport."

The United Services Union (Ver.di) had called on security staff at Frankfurt and Hamburg airports to go on a full-day strike on March 7 following a deadlock in wage negotiations with employers.

Due to the strike, 141 flights scheduled for tomorrow at Hamburg Airport have also been canceled.
