Gigi Hadid breaks silence on Palestine

The events that began following the attacks launched by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, against Israel on Saturday, October 7, under the name 'Al-Aqsa Flood,' have entered their 5th day.

While the Israeli army and Hamas continue to issue statements indicating that the attacks will persist, many celebrities are also continuing to make statements regarding the situation. World-famous Palestinian-American model Gigi Hadid has broken her silence of several days and made a statement on the subject via her Instagram account.

Palestinian-American model Gigi Hadid expressed her support for the 'Free Palestine Movement' and used pro-peace language in her social media post. Hadid's statement is as follows:

"I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it’s a daily responsibility that I take on. I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have before: While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of a Jewish person. The terrorizing of innocent people is not in alignment with and does not do any good for the 'Free Palestine' movement. If you are in pain, as I share my condolences today with my loved ones, both Palestinian and Jewish, I’m sending you my love and strength—whoever and wherever you are."

The famous model's father, Mohamed Hadid, also shared his daughter's message on his own account with the note, "From my daughter to all of humanity..."

'WHAT PALESTINIANS AND UKRAINIANS ARE EXPERIENCING IS THE SAME'

Last year, Hadid, who announced that she would donate the money she earned from fashion shows to Ukraine and Palestine, had been accused of antisemitism. Stating that she would "help those suffering from the war in Ukraine" with her earnings and "continue to support those experiencing the same things in Palestine," Hadid had said:

"Beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion, let's all see each other as brothers and sisters. At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war—not leaders. Hands off Ukraine. Hands off Palestine. Peace. Peace. Peace."
