Greece to send 'air defense system' to France for 2024 Summer Olympics
Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that they could provide a "Crotale air defense missile system" for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics if France submits a written request.
Responding to questions from journalists in Thessaloniki, Nikos Dendias stated, "If France submits a written request for the Crotale-type air defense missile system to protect Paris during the Olympic Games, we can provide it."
Referring to the Defense Cooperation Agreement between the two countries, Dendias expressed that it is natural for Greece to support France during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Regarding claims that have been circulating in the Greek press for some time about sending Patriot and S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine, Dendias stated that no such thing is under consideration.
