Certain holes observed in the wreckage of an Embraer 190 aircraft, which belonged to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan while on a Baku-Grozny flight, have sparked discussions on social media that the plane may have been shot down.
Following the release of footage on social media taken from the wreckage of the Embraer 190 aircraft that crashed while on a Baku-Grozny flight, speculation regarding the cause of the accident has increased.
In the footage, holes on the exterior of the plane and in the interior section where passengers were located, the cause of which has not yet been determined, drew attention.
In comments made on social media regarding the footage, claims were raised that the plane had been fired upon and crashed as a result.
PLANE CRASH IN KAZAKHSTAN
An Embraer 190 aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), operating a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.
AZAL announced that there were 67 people on board, consisting of a 5-person crew and 62 passengers.
Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev reported that 38 people lost their lives in the accident and 29 people survived.
A one-day national mourning period (December 26) was declared in Azerbaijan for those who lost their lives in the plane crash.
