Protests are held on Saturday evenings to demand the signing of an agreement for the return of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip and the resignation of the Netanyahu government.

Across Israel, hundreds of thousands of people criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu again this week, reiterating their demands for the resignation of the "most right-wing government" in the country's history and for early elections.

In addition to Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba, demands for the government's resignation and the return of the hostages were voiced in West Jerusalem and various other points across the country. The center of the protests was the area around the Ministry of Defense building in the capital, Tel Aviv, where hundreds of Israelis gathered in the evening hours.

YAİR LAPİD VOWS TO 'TOPPLE' NETANYAHU

Protesters carrying Israeli flags held banners, posters, and placards against Prime Minister Netanyahu and politicians in his government. Addressing the demonstrators gathered on Kaplan Street in front of the Ministry of Defense, main opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid vowed to "topple" the government in the elections.

Emphasizing that they would not reach any compromise with the Netanyahu-led government and would not give up, Lapid said, "We will win. Bibi (Netanyahu) is not actually getting stronger. The public is not on their (the coalition's) side. There are no elections because they are deathly afraid of elections, because they know the truth." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is accused by the Israeli and international public of not making a hostage exchange deal with Hamas for political reasons. It is estimated that there are 101 Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip. Israel continues its attacks in Gaza while hostage exchange negotiations are ongoing.
