Iran denies Trump's 'perfect' deal

U.S. President Donald Trump had made statements suggesting that an agreement had been reached with Iran and that the text was at the stage of being "approved" by Iran. Trump also announced that he had canceled planned attacks today for this reason. However, a report from the Iranian press denied these claims. Later, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement confirming the denial.

Iran denies Trump's 'perfect' deal

The Fars News Agency, one of Iran's semi-official news agencies, announced in a report citing an unnamed high-level source that no text regarding a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. had yet been approved by Tehran. The agency reported that the source used the phrase, "No text has been approved for a memorandum of understanding with the U.S."

IRAN'S RESPONSE TO TRUMP: THE DEAL IS NOT YET FINAL

Later, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks that an agreement would be signed between the two countries in the coming days. The statement indicated that the Tehran administration would announce its position later.

The ministry's statement included the following remarks:

“We had previously announced that most of the articles of the agreement had been resolved, but the American side wanted to add new demands.

All articles of a possible agreement will be reviewed by the highest authorities, and we will announce our position later.

What is being said about the time and place of the signing of the agreement is media speculation. The agreement with Washington is not yet final.”
