Iranian assembly member announces: Mojtaba Khamenei was trapped under rubble in attack

Iranian Assembly of Experts member Ayatollah Mohsen Heidari announced that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured during targeted attacks in the early days of the war and that the hospital where he was subsequently receiving treatment was also struck.

Speaking to the Al Araby channel, Heidari said that Mojtaba Khamenei was initially injured in an airstrike targeting the office of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. According to Heidari, Khamenei was taken to the hospital following this attack.

Heidari claimed that US and Israeli forces targeted three separate hospitals where it was assessed Ali Khamenei might be located. Stating that Mojtaba Khamenei was receiving treatment in the third of these hospitals, Heidari expressed that the hospital in question sustained heavy damage as a result of the bombardment.

Ayatollah Heidari also said that Mojtaba Khamenei was trapped under rubble during the attack. Heidari relayed that Khamenei was pulled from the rubble, his health condition was brought under control following medical interventions, and they later received information that he was improving.

Heidari additionally stated that Mojtaba Khamenei was elected as the "leader of the revolution" by a decision of the Assembly of Experts, without conducting external consultations with any institution or organization. Heidari argued that Khamenei's ability to lead the country and his knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence had been confirmed.
