Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi hits back at US over Strait of Hormuz: 'Miscalculations are being made'
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the US is making miscalculations regarding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz due to intelligence errors.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi argued that the US is making "miscalculations" in its assessments regarding Iran and the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement on his social media account, Araghchi noted that Washington has been taking erroneous steps for a long time due to intelligence failures, stating, "The US has been making miscalculations for a long time due to intelligence errors. For example, the war against Iran. Now, a much bigger miscalculation has been made in the Strait of Hormuz. Worse than fake news is fake intelligence. Be careful."
In his post, Araghchi also added, "God is great, greater than any power on earth. We trust in God."
Hossein Taeb, commander of the Basij paramilitary organization affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also said that the Strait of Hormuz is "under the control and management of Iran."
Taeb stated, "Today, you see that the Strait of Hormuz is under the management and control of Iran and that our country continues on its path in complete security. The Americans have seen the power of the Islamic revolution."
The statements came following a post by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account. Trump had claimed that the US has "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz.
