Israel issues statement on Lebanon and 'ground invasion'

Danon answered questions from journalists at the UN.

When asked whether "Israel has the strength to handle another front," Danon noted that they have past experience regarding Lebanon.

Danon stated, "We are not eager to start a ground invasion. I do not want to send my own son or our sons to fight in a foreign country."

On the other hand, emphasizing that they are determined to protect civilians in Israel, Danon said, "We prefer a diplomatic solution. If that does not work, we may use other methods to show the other side that we are serious."

Danon argued that they are ready to do whatever is necessary so that "people can return to the north," and that the goal is to ensure peace and tranquility.

Regarding the question of whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend the UN General Assembly, Danon said that he is scheduled to arrive in New York on Thursday, September 26, and will address the General Assembly on Friday.

Danon also added that the "situation is dynamic" and that they will provide updates on developments.
