Jared Kushner to meet Netanyahu in Israel for second phase of Gaza plan

Jared Kushner, son-in-law and advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, has traveled to Israel as part of his efforts to move to a new phase in the Gaza agreement. Kushner is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the second phase of the Gaza Peace Plan.

Prior to his visit to Israel, Kushner held meetings in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. After meeting with High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council Nikolay Mladenov, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and a Hamas delegation in Cairo, Kushner proceeded to Israel.

Kushner, who arrived in Israel in the evening alongside Mladenov and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is also a member of the Gaza Peace Council, is expected to put the transition process to the second phase of the ceasefire on the table during his meeting with Netanyahu.

According to a report by The Times of Israel citing an Arab diplomat, Kushner is expected to pressure Netanyahu regarding the cessation of attacks in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israel should Hamas begin disarmament, and the fulfillment of humanitarian aid commitments that were part of the October 2025 ceasefire.

Netanyahu had previously announced that they rejected the 15-point plan announced by the Peace Council regarding the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza.

The first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip went into effect on October 10, 2025. Although the agreement provided for a prisoner exchange and an increase in humanitarian aid, it was reported that Israel's attacks and restrictions on the entry of aid had continued.
