Mitsotakis gives date for visa-on-arrival program for 10 islands

Mitsotakis gives date for visa-on-arrival program for 10 islands

Speaking to the Greek state broadcaster ERT, Mitsotakis made assessments regarding the current agenda.

Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis stated that the Aegean has a very complex geographical structure, saying, "I do not think this issue will be resolved overnight, but we will approach it with good intentions."

Noting that Greece's request to purchase F-35s from the US has matured, Mitsotakis said he expects the US to respond to this request soon.

Answering a question regarding Turkey's request to purchase F-16s from the US, Mitsotakis said, "We are neither trying to block this nor do we have the ability to influence the sale of defense equipment to another country."

Mitsotakis stated that he will visit the US within two weeks to attend an investment forum in New York, adding that opportunities in Greece will be promoted to investors in the US.

VISA FACILITATION FOR TURKISH TOURISTS TO START IN MARCH

Emphasizing that relations between Turkey and Greece have normalized recently, Mitsotakis stated that the program providing visa facilitation for Turkish tourists visiting 10 islands will begin in March.

Mitsotakis said, "10 islands will benefit from the agreement throughout both the spring and the entire summer, and I believe this agreement will be permanent."

Stating that dialogue between the two countries is being developed to increase trade between Turkey and Greece, Mitsotakis also said that cooperation between the two countries on the issue of irregular migration is improving.

MITSOTAKIS ON THE OPTIMISTIC ATMOSPHERE

Pointing out that geography creates a very complex structure in the Aegean, Mitsotakis spoke as follows regarding the disputes in the Aegean:

"I do not think this issue will be resolved overnight, but we will approach it with good intentions, and we will clearly define our red lines, which every Greek government has set forth when discussing these issues.

On the other hand, we will also take advantage of the general optimistic atmosphere, which I can say has already created a significantly positive impact on its own."
