A move from Denmark that will anger Russia!

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen announced that the use of F-16 fighter jets to be delivered to Ukraine on Russian territory would be "within the laws of war."

According to reports in the Ukrainian press, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen answered journalists' questions on the subject in Brussels.

Rasmussen stated that as part of providing F-16s to Ukraine, they would also help train pilots and personnel for the use of these aircraft.

Evaluating the possibility of Ukraine using F-16s on Russian territory, Rasmussen said, "It is completely within the laws of war for a country that is under attack to defend itself."

Stating that the provision of F-16s does not mean that Ukraine has been given "full authority" to carry out "arbitrary attacks" on Russia, Minister Rasmussen emphasized that these aircraft were provided "to allow Ukraine to seize opportunities to weaken the Russian military by attacking military facilities inside Russian territory."

Countries led by the Netherlands and Denmark agreed in May 2023 to provide F-16s to Ukraine and to train Ukrainian pilots for the US-made F-16 fighter jets widely used in NATO.

The Netherlands had announced it would provide 42 F-16s, and Denmark had announced it would provide 19.
