New Zealand to ban disposable e-cigarettes

New Zealand Associate Minister of Health Casey Castello stated in a press release that the rise in e-cigarette use among the country's youth population is at an alarming level for families, teachers, and healthcare workers.

Castello expressed that they want to keep minors away from e-cigarette use and that a new regulation will be implemented for this purpose.

FINE OF 60 THOUSAND DOLLARS

It was reported that the regulation, which aims to ban the use of e-cigarettes, could impose fines of up to 60 thousand dollars on commercial businesses that sell e-cigarettes to those under 18.

In New Zealand, where child safety locks on e-cigarettes have been mandatory since August 2023, the use of attention-grabbing names such as "cotton candy" and "strawberry jelly donut" in the marketing of the product had also been banned.
