US President Donald Trump, in a statement to Fox News, said that American forces responded within minutes to the ballistic missile attack launched by Iran overnight targeting US soldiers in Jordan.

Stating that the fired missiles were neutralized by air defense systems before reaching their targets, Trump expressed that the operation was successfully concluded.

STERN THREAT FROM TRUMP TO IRAN

Making notable remarks regarding Iran following the attack, Trump said that the Washington administration would provide a strong response.

Trump threatened the Tehran administration by using the phrases, "We will hit very hard. They will take a heavy blow. They will get a severe beating."

Trump also stated that he watched the footage of the interception operation and explained that US soldiers managed the intervention by sharing coordinate information in real-time during the attack.

HE ALSO TOUCHED UPON OPERATIONS IN IRAQ

Trump said that the attacks carried out by the US and Saudi Arabia overnight against Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq were conducted in coordination with the Iraqi government.

Describing Iranian-backed Shiite groups as "a cancer to the world," Trump stated that additional warnings and new steps regarding Tehran's proxy forces in the region are also on the agenda.
