Pezeshkian: Negotiation does not mean surrender
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the goal of potential talks with the US is to end the war and release blocked resources.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in his assessment regarding the possibility of negotiations with the US, said that talks do not mean "surrender." Pezeshkian stated that his country aims to move forward step-by-step in the negotiation process while observing its "wisdom, dignity, and interests."
According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Pezeshkian spoke at a meeting titled "Today's Women, Tomorrow's Iran," attended by women and experts working in various fields in Tehran. Addressing the possibility of war and negotiation, Pezeshkian expressed that Iran defends its territorial integrity against attacks, but does not see war as a goal.
Pezeshkian emphasized that holding talks with the US should not be interpreted as a step backward for Iran. Citing China as an example, Pezeshkian noted that some countries have proven themselves through economic competition.
The Iranian President also pointed to the importance of protecting the country, providing services to the public, and strengthening the sense of national belonging against foreigners, adding that he appreciates the public's support during difficult times.
