Powerful earthquake in Afghanistan: Many dead and injured
At least 250 people have died and 500 have been injured in a 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck near the city of Jalalabad in Afghanistan.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was 27 kilometers northeast of Jalalabad, in a region near the border with Pakistan. It was announced that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers.
According to initial reports, more than 250 people lost their lives and 500 people were injured as a result of this tremor. Authorities stated that search and rescue operations are ongoing and that the death toll may rise.
